The JMS Basketball Classic aims to provide scholar-athletes and community members from urban areas with a positive and safe summer activity. This initiative focuses on students transitioning from middle school to high school, creating connections with high school coaches. It represents our ongoing commitment to supporting Harlem youth and the broader community. The event serves as a platform to raise awareness for the JMS Empire LLC clothing brand, "Just Make Sense". This program is designed to foster the holistic development of young scholar-athletes through the game of basketball. This year, we successfully serviced 400 community members and 60 student athletes during the 4th Annual Basketball Classic. None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Raising Canes, Columbia Neighbors, CAP USA, The MET, Smart Water, Domino's, Harlem Grace, and Youth on the Move. During the 3rd Annual Basketball Classic we serviced 300 plus community members. In partnership with Planet Fitness we gave out 250 JMS shirts. Harlem Grace donated over 100 slices of Papa John Pizza. Harlem Renaissance Church donated Dinosaurs BBQs to the community members. Dominos donated over 100 slices, Backed Cravings donated sweat treats for the kids that attended the event. All City Legends donated a graffiti styled banner. We would like to send a special thank you to all of the sponsors. CAPUSA donated hats to the winners of each basketball game & raffled hats to the community members. Community Affairs of Columbia University gave fincial donations towards the basketball jerseys. Over 300 community members were served and were entertained by basketball games & halftime performances. This event brought community engagement to the Harlem showing that Harlem residents that were removed from the community due to gentrification are still a part & are providing for Harlem.

The 2nd Annual Basketball Classic we were able to service more community members as we donated over 150 JMS shirts in partnership with Planet Fitness. Over 150 community members were served food donated by Shake Shack, WingStop, Tropical Cove & Dominos with refreshments & drinks as they were entertained by basketball games & halftime performances. This event brought community engagement to the Harlem showing that Harlem residents that were removed from the community due to gentrification are still a part & are providing for Harlem. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine donated dental utensils to the young scholars who attended the event. CAPUSA donated hats to the winners of each basketball game & raffled hats to the community members. Last but not least this event will bring an awareness and an introduction to the JMS Empire LLC clothing brand “Just Make Snse”. The JMS Empire collaborated with up and coming brand Local Hoops during the 2nd Annual.

The JMS 1st Annual Basketball Classic, In Loving Memory of Natasha Y. Colon (9/9/1980 - 6/7/2021), gave teens from urban communities an outlet during this summer to keep them safe from community violence. This event brought community engagement to the community of Harlem showing that Harlem residents that were removed from the community due to gentrification are still a part & are providing for Harlem. CAPUSA donated hats to the winners of each basketball game & raffled hats to the community members. Over 100 families received free JMS collaborative planet fitness t-shirts & over 100 families were served food, refreshments & beverages. Last but not least this event will bring an awareness and an introduction to the JMS Empire LLC clothing brand “Just Make Snse”.
